Beste Jeugd- en muziekvrienden,
We hebben goed nieuws: de muziekwedstrijd voor Marimba en Vibrafoon op zondag 18 april gaat door!
Door de maatregelen omtrent corona is publiek niet toegelaten, maar werd de wedstrijd aangepast. U kan dus de volledige wedstrijd volgen, kijken en beluisteren via livestream!
Allen welkom! De wedstrijd start om 10.40 uur en de proclamatie is voorzien rond 17.15 uur.

Dear Lions friends,
Thank you again for your generous donation for the victims of the heavy earthquake. Here is the report about the raised and used funds so far.
In total ever since the beginning of this action, we could rise EUR 395.000, from 17 European Countries, of which the Croatian Lions have contributed EUR 85.000.
Up to date we could deliver 28 mobile houses, providing shelter for the same number of families (about 160 men, women, and children).
The mobile houses were used but in good condition, fully equipped units with furniture and other equipment with following specifications: Dimension: 8-8,5 x 3 meter Living room + 2 sleeping rooms, equipped with a sitting corner, chairs, table, beds, cabinets/wardrobe Kitchen niche with Kochnische mit hotplate, refrigerator, sink Bathroom with shower cabin, sink, toilette, hot water boiler Air conditioner/heating, power sockets, gas connection, water connection, lighting. The average price of the houses was 9.260€ (x28 houses = 259.280€)
We have visited all the families and found that they are very happy, especially the children.

Presently we are still providing infrastructure connections (power, water, gas) where needed, in the amount of 6.500€.
We have used the funds to co-finance (9.200€) a purchase of a mini-bus for the county sight impaired association, which was destroyed in the earthquake.
We have spent 20.000€ for renewal of the destroyed chimneys for 18 homes, enable again the heating and warm water for the families.
With the remaining funds and with 50.000$ grant expecting from LCIF we intend to equip a local school with furniture and school (450 pupils) equipment after it’s rebuilt.

Geachte Lions-vrienden en vriendinnen,
In bijlage vinden jullie het tweede filmpje dat door Special Olympics Belgium werd gemaakt in samenwerking met atleten met een verstandelijke beperking over gezonde voeding. De kosten voor de ontwikkeling van dit filmpje worden gedragen door Lions Belgium.
In Corona tijden probeert het gezondheidsprogramma de atleten op deze manier te bereiken om hen te wijzen op het belang van een gezonde levenswijze.

De 103de Lions Clubs International Convention wordt online gehouden van 25 tot 29 juni 2021 en iedereen wordt uitgenodigd om deel te nemen. Oak Brook vraagt hiervoor een inschrijving van 50€.
In plaats van je online in te schrijven via de officiële procedure van OB, nodigt de Gouverneursraad je uit om je in te schrijven via het MD. Dit is de andere manier van inschrijven die wordt voorgesteld door OB en de Gouverneursraad heeft besloten er gebruik van te maken. Zo kan het MD al de inschrijvingsgelden voor zijn rekening nemen en een voorkeursbehandeling verzekeren aan de ingeschreven leden.
Concreet vragen wij om vóór 25 maart het formulier in te vullen via onderstaande link en het inschrijvingsgeld van 50€ aan te kruisen, dat is alles. Een bevestiging van je inschrijving zal volgen (controleer ook je spam box) en een bericht van betaling van het MD zal je later worden toegestuurd.

Het inschrijvingsproces wordt afgesloten op 25 maart. Schrijf je dus snel in, want anders zal je moeten inschrijven via de officiële OB-procedure en zal het inschrijvingsgeld ondertussen oplopen tot 75€.
